These friends, are Vibram Five Fingers. They are absolutely the most ridiculous looking shoes out there. I don't even know if you can call them shoes. I have a lot of great ideas most of the time, but attempting to run in these at the beginning of training for a marathon wasn't one of them.
I hate to knock them when I've only run in them once, so I'll quit now. "They" say these shoes are better for runner's feet, so I am hoping to build up some better calf muscles and as I do, I think these will be easier to run in. Have any of you heard about them? Tried them? Cassie calls them monkey shoes, appropriately.
Oh yeah about that Marathon training plan. It's coming along great, but lets face it. The summer is only getting hotter and mustier. Sundays are long runs and have been so hot. As I look at the schedule each week, I get excited to conquer each longer distance, but at the same time I wonder if I'll make it as I get over 13 miles. That's the most mileage I've ever run consecutively. So say a prayer and if you see me on the road, throw some water on me:)
