There's a sinus infection, but there's Jesus

I was going to be a blog updater of at least three times a week. Then I remembered I was a full time working mom. In addition to that, throw in a sinus infection. There ya go people. It turns me into a once a week type blogger. We can't have that so I will be going to the ENT tomorrow (for only the millionth time this year). Andy went Friday, smart guy. He's feeling better. I don't know why I didn't just go. I was thinking I would push through it. The last time I was at the ENT with a sinus infection, Dr. Pitts told me I was the worst he'd seen all day. He said "young mothers are so busy taking care of everyone else, they neglect themselves, and then come in here feeling worse." He had that right.
For the record. Before Drew was born, I never got sick. NEVER. I never got viruses, colds, sinus infections, never even had allergy problems. I always had energy and that general "umph!" I love you, Drew. I reallllly do. I'm just complaining for a quick little second. You just go back to hogging the Christmas lights.
This is Drew's very own tree. The one we picked out here. We came home and attempted to decorate it. She obviously loved the lights. She didn't understand wrapping them around the tree. Nor did she understand that all of her soft ornaments were meant for the tree and not to take "nite nite" with her. I did get this tree decorated, eventually. I also got the big tree done too. Neither of which I got a good nap after doing. Wait, I'm a mom. I keep reminding myself of this when I long for a weekend nap.
Did this sound whiny? I hope not. I tried. But in my defense, I feel like my head is going to explode from sinus pressure. End whining. Here is some happy stuff:

Drew is no longer sick!
I highlighted my hair for the first time in months and it feels glorious.
I made some slam dunk vanilla butter melt away cookies which I will post about (when the sinus pressure goes away!)
Drew is saying so many words now including "poot." Thanks Daddy.
Wearing socks to bed with your feet lathered in Vicks vapor rub really does help a cough. I don't care what snopes says. I've tried it for a few nights now.
Sierra Mist Cranberry is here for the holiday and it. is. delicious.
I have slacked on my advent devotional the last two days but I am getting back on track this evening. If you are still looking to catch up on one, I highly recommend this one!

And lastly, my complaining sure doesn't sound like I have a lot of joy, but please know, I have so much joy in my heart. I am a mommy who gets worn out, we all do. I am human, therefore sinful. My heart can reflect ugliness from complaining some days, but that leads me to what this season is about. The baby that came to take that ugliness away and replace it with the ultimate love. I am so thankful for that. I am so thankful for the daily opportunity to re- focus on God's gift.
So say it with me...
There's a ____________, but there's Jesus.

Hope y'all are having a great week!
